After conducting a nationwide search and consulting with the top minds in the North American private club / hospitality industry, The Club at Treasure Island is delighted to welcome Jeff Thomas as our new General Manager.
For over a quarter-century, Jeff has served as a leading voice in the world of private clubs, implementing groundbreaking organizational and operational advances to some of the most exclusive properties anywhere in the world. In fact, Jeff has served as General Manager at the Audubon Country Club in Naples, Florida; The Oglethorpe Club in Savannah, Georgia; and even the iconic Greenbrier Resort in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
But Jeff’s background isn’t just limited to executive-level private club management: He’s also an innovative restaurateur who excelled as Chef at the Hyatt Hotels in Denver, Colorado and Hilton Head, South Carolina. And as an entrepreneur, Jeff was the owner and Executive Chef of the award-winning, 80-seat Panache Restaurant in Coastal Carolina. Jeff earned an A.O.S. from the Culinary Institute of America and a Business Administration Degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Q: How does it feel to join “Tampa Bay’s Best Private Club,” The Club at Treasure Island?
A: I’m incredibly excited to be here in beautiful Tampa Bay, and I’m looking forward to becoming an active presence on Treasure Island! I’ve dedicated my adult life to studying and mastering the intricacies of the private club industry, and believe me, The Club at Treasure Island is redefining the entire private club experience. Thanks to the vision of Bill Edwards and Joe Jimenez, our club will set the gold standard for service, care, dining, family-fun and entertainment. Together, we’re going to accomplish great things!
Q: What are some of the new programs and services that you plan on implementing?
A: We’re here to, literally, “Enrich the Lives of Our Treasured Members Each and Every Day.” This means that we’ll closely listen to all of our members, and then work feverishly to implement the programs and services that will be most meaningful. Of course, I have plenty of ideas that I’d love to pursue: Fitness is a passion of mine, and I can certainly envision expanding our health and wellness amenities. But no matter what we do, it will always exemplify the Five-Star, Five-Diamond philosophy of the ultra-elite private clubs
Q: After serving as a General Manager at the legendary Greenbrier Resort and other top-tier private clubs, what are some of the life-lessons that you’ve learned?
A: I’ve learned so much from everywhere I’ve been, and I’ve had the great personal fortune to mentor under some of the most brilliant thinkers this industry has to offer. One of my critical life-lessons is that there are no “unimportant” details. Everything matters! For The Club at Treasure Island, everything we say, do and attach our name to must reflect the highest caliber of quality and service. We will never, ever compromise when it comes to quality and service, believe me!
Q: How do you envision the relationship between The Club and its members?
A: We always want our Treasured Members to feel valued, welcomed and important. This is their “home away from home” – a special, wonderful place for our members to celebrate great memories, create new moments of magic and forge friendships that last a lifetime. Our entire team is working 24 / 7 to enhance the lives of our members by providing A-List entertainment, unbeatable Concierge Services, Florida’s finest cuisine, and the ultimate in island-style comfort and hospitality.
Yes, we’ve just been recognized as “Tampa Bay’s Best Private Club.” Yes, it’s a great honor. But there’s always an opportunity to improve, and I give you my solemn word: The best is yet to come! We’re just getting started, and I want to thank all our Treasured Members for being so kind and welcoming. I already feel like part of the community, and I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!
