An entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mr. Bill Edwards’ far-reaching roots in Tampa Bay extend way beyond his many business and music interests – which includes serving as Chairman and CEO of Big3 Entertainment LLC and Bill Edwards Presents, the influential recording, touring and promotional companies that have represented headlining superstars like Jon Secada, Josh Groban, Toby Keith, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Cheap Trick, Stryper, Carnie Wilson and so many others. Mr. Edwards is also a firm believer in strengthening community ties and assisting local children programs. In particular, providing care, comfort and much-needed resources for the young patients at All Children’s Hospital and through the Edwards Family Foundation is emblematic of his community-minded outreach.
As a proud Treasure Island resident, Mr. Edwards acquired The Club at Treasure Island in July of 2009, determined to build the local landmark into West Central Florida’s social epicenter and cultural nerve-center. And in record time, he’s left an indelible imprint, transforming the Club into the one-stop conservatory for five-star amenities, star-studded special events and top-to-bottom personalized service for all treasured members.
Armed with a personal rolodex of celebrity headliners and a fierce determination to realize his ambitious vision for The Club at Treasure Island, the future of our beautiful bayside resort is as bright and boundless as the Florida sun.
President – The Edwards Group
Rick Baker has been a Business Acquisition lawyer, a Law Firm President, a University Vice President – and he now serves as President of The Edwards Group, a St. Petersburg-based group of companies involved in development, hotels, real estate, entertainment and hospitality.
In 2001 he was elected mayor of St. Petersburg – Florida’s fourth largest city. Under Mayor Baker’s leadership St. Petersburg experienced a renaissance unmatched in city history. Its downtown became one of the most vibrant in the Southeast and its most economically depressed area – Midtown – experienced an unparalleled turnaround.
In 2008, Mayor Baker was named America’s Mayor/Public Official of the Year by Governing Magazine. CNN commentator John Avlon, in a 2011 Newsweek Magazine/The Daily Beast column, labeled him “America’s greatest mayor of the decade.”
Baker is an adjunct fellow of the Manhattan Institute’s Center for State and Local Leadership based in New York City. He has authored two books – Mangroves to Major League in 2000, a history of Florida and St. Petersburg; and The Seamless City in 2011, about city leadership and urban revitalization.
